  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN JULY Saints celebrated on the 7th of July WELCOME! SAINT PARTHENIUS AND COMPANIONS, MARTYRS (S.S. Parthenius et Soc. M.M.) Saint Parthenius and his companions, martyrs, are listed on this day. Perhaps he is the same person whom we have already named as  Parmenius . SAINT PARTHENIUS, MARTYR OF ROME - 19 MAY

  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN MAY Saints celebrated on the 19th of May WELCOME! SAINT PARTHENIUS, MARTYR OF ROME A companion of  Saint Calocerus , Parthenius was killed for the Christian faith in Rome. His martyrdom took place during the Decian persecution (in A.D. 250). He is commemorated on  May 19 and  February 11   (IV. 301). SAINT PARTHENIUS, BISHOP OF LAMPSACUS - 7 FEBRUARY

  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN FEBRUARY Saints celebrated on the 7th of February WELCOME! SAINT PARTHENIUS, BISHOP OF LAMPSACUS Saint Parthenius, bishop of Lampsacus (Hellespont) in Mysia (now Lapsak on the Dordanelles Straits), flourished in the fourth century. In his time Christianity had already gained a firm footing in the area as a whole. In the Greek church books he is called "the admirable and great shepherd, the miraculous high priest of the Church of Christ, the jubilant of the Hellespont, the support of the faithful, etc ."  Parthenius was the son of Christodulus, deacon at the church in Miletopolis. Although without a scholarly education, Parthenius possessed a great deal of biblical knowledge. His occupation was fishing in the nearby lake (Lake of Maniyas).   ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN MAY Saints celebrated on the 19th of May SAINTS CALOCERUS AND PARTHENIUS, MARTYRS Today, we also commemorate Saints Calocerus and Parthenius . The Roman Martyrology states:  "Also, at Rome, on the Appian road, the birthday of the Saints Calocerus and Parthenius , eunuchs. The former was chamberlain to the wife of the emperor Decius, and the latter chief officer in another department. For refusing to offer sacrifice to idols, they were put to death."
