(1693) Saint Auspicius, was the first bishop of Apt in France. If the information in the French Breviaries is correct, Auspicius was a Roman citizen, from one of the Senator's families, tutor of  Flavia Domitilla (the niece of Emperor Domitian), and pupil of Saints Nereus and Achilleus . After having buried the bodies of his holy teachers, Auspicius preached the gospel in Apt and sealed his teaching with his blood. According to Migne *, he went to his eternal reward in the year 398.   ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN JULY Saints celebrated on the 8th of July SAINT AUSPICIUS, BISHOP OF TRIER  Saint Auspicius, was one of the first bishops of Trier (Treves] - perhaps the 4th. He lived in the 2nd century and is revered in this city as a martyr. However, the information about him is so uncertain that we are unable to provide any further details. Saint Auspicius is listed in the Roman Martyrology * on July 8. (1693) Saint Auspicius was a bishop of Toul who lived in the fifth century and, according to Sidonius Apollinaris, was distinguished by learning and holiness. Saint Auspicius died in A.D. 475 and was buried in the church of Saint Mansuet (French Mansuy). Bishop Richard of Albano, who was legate of the holy See, solemnly raised his mortal remains in A.D. 1107 and placed them in a reliquary coffin. (Mg.)
