  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN NOVEMBER Saints celebrated on the 15th of November   ST LEONTIUS, BISHOP Saint Leontius, also called Leguntius, is - according to Zedler - the 10th Bishop of Bordeaux, the second of this name or the younger (to distinguish him from St Leontius, his ancestor). HE DID ARMED SERVICE IN HIS YOUTH St Leontius was born in Saintes. He came from one of the finest houses in Aquitaine. In his youth he did armed service against the Visigoths in Spain and in Narbonne Gaul.  HE BECAME BISHOP Because of his splendid virtues, the people and clergy of Bordeaux elected him their chief shepherd in 541.  From this time on he looked at his wife Placidina, who could count among her ancestors St Sidonius and the emperor Avitus, no different than at a beloved sister, and Placidina, completely devoted to godliness herself, found her greatest delight in supporting her husband in all good works.  HE BUILT A CHURCH St Leontius used his considerable property to b...

SAINT MALO, BISHOP Church St Vincent in Saint Malo Saint Malo (Maclou, Machutus), first bishop of Aleth in Brittany, was a native of England, and cousin-german to  Saint Sampson and Saint Magloire .  At an early age he was sent for his education to Ireland, where he made a rapid progress in learning and virtue. HE RETIRED INTO BRITTANY Being ordained priest, he was soon after elected to a bishopric by the suffrages of the people: but he declined that dignity, and retired into Brittany, where he put himself under the direction of a holy recluse named Aaron , near Aleth.  About the year 541 he was made bishop of this city, and died on November 15, 565.  IT IS FROM HIM THAT THE CITY OF ST MALO HAS ITS NAME It is from him the city of St Malo has its name; for his sacred remains were carried thither after Aleth had been reduced to a village, and the episcopal see transferre...

SAINT FINTAN, MISSIONARY AND HERMIT     ⬅️ Litany of the Irish Saints St Fintan, 9th century Irish Saint and missionary in Switzerland and Germany, famous for his sublime prayer and spirit of penance.  He passed the last years of his life as a Recluse in an island in the River Rhine, and is still in great local veneration. He is said to have passed away A.D. 827. From The Book of Saints, 1921, by the Monks of Ramsgate PRAYER: Pour into our hearts, O Lord, we pray, a longing for heavenly glory, and grant that we may come, bearing in our hands sheaves of justice, to where Saint Fintan shines with you. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN NOVEMBER Saints celebrated on the 15th of November   WELCOME! SAINT EUGENIUS OF PARIS, BISHOP AND MARTYR Saint Eugenius was a disciple of St Dionysius, first bishop of Paris, and suffered martyrdom at Paris soon after him, according to the New Paris Breviary in A.D. 275.  A DISCIPLE OF ST DIONYSIUS His relics were translated to Toledo, in Spain, in 1148, as is related by Mariana. To pursue higher studies, he left his native land and went to Padua.
