BLESSED PETER TARRES CLARET, DOCTOR AND PRIEST Blessed Peter (Pedro) was born in 1905 in Manresa, (Barcelona), into a family of workers. As a young adult, he began to study medicine at the University of Barcelona - thanks to a scholarship - and during his time at university he was a member of Catholic Action. HE STUDIED FOR THE PRIESTHOOD Once qualified as a doctor, he founded the Our Lady of Mercy clinic in Barcelona together with Dr Gerardo Manresa, which concentrated on treating tuberculosis patients. He studied for the priesthood from 1943. He was ordained and was a very dedicated and holy priest. Bl. Peter died in 1950. His remains rest in the parish church of St Vincent de Sarria.
