  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN APRIL Saints celebrated on the 7th of April WELCOME! BLESSED ALEXANDER RAWLINS, PRIEST AND MARTYR Alexander Rawlins, of the Diocese of Gloucester, suffered martyrdom along with Fr Henry Walpole . After being twice imprisoned at Newgate for religion in 1586, Rawlins arrived at Reims,  December 23, 1589; he was ordained subdeacon at Laon, September 23, 1589, deacon and priest at Soissons, in March 1590, was sent on the mission the following April 9, and landed at Whitby. His execution took place on April 7, 1595. (1693) Artur * lists Sebastian of Saint Maria (Sebastianus) with the title "blessed." He was a devout and penitent lay brother of the Order of Saint Francis at Alcala in Spain. In A.D. 1580 he died there with a reputation of great holiness. (Hub.) (1693) Because of her excellent virtues Maria Anna Rinek von Reichenstein was elected abbess at the monastery of the Poor Clares in Freiburg/Breisgau. She died on April 7, 1707, at the age of 78. Even as a child she was in constant contact with God and, although physically weak and miserable, already showed clear signs of her later, highly blessed life.  With advancing age, the heavenly enlightenments multiplied. Because of those extraordinary graces, some people took her for a sorceress or a witch.  In a revelation Ursulina received the order to travel to Avignon to persuade the antipope Clement to abolish the schism. Clement received her graciously, listened attentively to her, and felt so touched that, if the cardinals who followed him had consented, he would have subjected himself to the rightful Pope [ Innocent VII ]. BLESSED EDWARD OLDCORNE, PRIEST AND MARTYR  ⬅️  Forty Martyrs of England and Wales [Blessed Edward Oldcorne was a] martyr, he was born in 1561. His father was a Protestant, and his mother a Catholic. He was educated as a doctor, but later decided to enter the priesthood, went to the English College at Reims, then to Rome, where, after ordination, in 1587, he became a  Jesuit .  HE WENT ON THE MISSION Next year he returned to England in company with  Father John Gerard , and worked, chiefly in Worcester, until he was arrested with Father Henry Garnet  and taken to the Tower.
