ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN FEBRUARY Saints celebrated on the 18th of February WELCOME! SAINT COLMAN, BISHOP OF LINDISFARNE Monastery yard in the snow Saint Colman (Colmanus) , commemorated on February 18 and August 8, was Bishop of Lindisfarne in England. He succeeded  Saint Finan in this office. However, because he was unable to prevail in the Easter Controversy (in which he sided with the dissenting Scots), he resigned his bishopric and withdrew first to the monastery of Mailros and then to the island of Hy, where he converted many to the Christian faith.  In 667, he travelled to an island in the western part of the Irish province of Connaught, called Inisbofinde , settled down there and built a monastery. He went to his eternal reward in 676.
