REGINBERT, ABBOT Sankt Blasien Venerable Reginbert (Reginbertus, Regimbertus) is the founder of the famous St Blase Abbey (Abtei St Blasien), formerly called Albzell (Cella Alba), in the Black Forest. In 945, the half-ruined monastery that already existed there was transformed by him into a handsome building. He also bequeathed his entire heritage in Zurichgau to the new church. Venerable Reginbert was a Baron of Seldenburen (Sellenburen), privy councilor of Emperor Otto I and a brave soldier who had lost a hand in the turmoil of battle.
