  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN DECEMBER Saints celebrated on the 12th of December WELCOME! BLESSED JAMES OF VITERBO, ARCHBISHOP OF NAPLES James [Jacobus] of Viterbo was born Giacomo Capocci in 1255. An Italian Augustinian hermit friar and Scholastic theologian, he was sent to study in Paris. He wrote commentaries on various New Testament pieces. In 1302, he composed and dedicated to the pope the earliest known treatise on the Church, De regimine Christiano . On September 3, 1302,  Boniface VIII created him bishop of Benevento; and on December 12, 1303, he appointed him archbishop of Naples. James went to his eternal reward in 1307. Bartolus, was born to noble parents at Castell Saint Geminiano in the Florentine region. He was the fruit of his parents' prayer after twenty years of childless marriage.  A GREAT LOVE FOR HOLY CHASTITY From childhood he showed a great love for chastity, and when his father wanted to implement marriage plans for him when he had become an adolescent, Bartholus fled to Pisa. There he stayed at first with the Benedictines, but subsequently entered the third order and was ordained a priest.  CHRIST APPEARED TO HIM In his old age Christ appeared to him and announced that he would come in eighty-one days and fetch him to Paradise. SAINT COLUMBA OF TERRYGLASS, ABBOT Saint Columba was a son of Crinthainn and a disciple of St Finnian of Clonard. When the latter was in extremis, from the plague, Columba administered Holy Viaticum. Having completed his studies, he took charge of Caemban, Fintan, and Mocumin, who are numbered among the saints.  HE FOUNDED THE MONASTERY OF TERRYGLASS He founded the celebrated monastery of Tirdaglas, or Terryglass, 548.  It is said that he visited Tours and brought thence relics of St Martin .  He died of the plague, December 13, 552, and was buried within the precincts of his own monastery at Terryglass.
