SAINT CYRIL OF JERUSALEM, BISHOP AND DOCTOR OF THE CHURCH ⬅️ Doctors of the Church - Complete List Saint Cyril, born in 315, became Bishop of Jerusalem in 348 when the Arian controversy was at its height, and he was exiled several times. In his ‘Catecheses’ he set out the true teaching of Christianity and scripture and the tradition of the Church. He died in 386. PRAYER: Father, through Cyril of Jerusalem you led your Church to a deeper understanding of the mysteries of salvation.
