  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN SEPTEMBER Saints celebrated on the 15th of September WELCOME! SAINT ALBINUS, BISHOP OF LYON Saint Albinus (or Alpin), Bishop of Lyon in France, was the successor of Saint Justus , who had resigned his episcopal office and died in the wilderness (he is venerated on 2 September). Saint Albinus took charge of the diocese around the year 380 A.D. How long he was bishop and whether he died still in the 4th century cannot be determined due to a lack of precise information. He may well have been, as some claim, of noble birth; but he was certainly not a martyr, as some hagiographers state, since he is always listed as " confessor " in all major martyrologies. He is said to have built the church of St Stephen in Lyon, but his body was not buried there, but in the church of St Justus. He is listed on June 15 in the Roman Martyrology* . SAINT ALBINUS, BISHOP OF BRIXEN The name Albinus is derived from the Latin: Albus = white ; meaning: the white, the clean one.  Saint Albinus (Albuinus) ,commemorated on February 5, Bishop of Brixen (Brixina, Brixino) in Tyrol, was descended from noble parents. He is said to have transferred the episcopal see from Seben (Sebatum, Sabio) to Brixen, to have been highly esteemed by Emperor Henry the Pious, and to have been buried in Brixen. His name is listed in the Roman Martyrology * on February 5 alongside that of Saint Genuinus . SAINT ALBINUS, BISHOP OF EMBRUN  Saint Albinus, Bishop of Embrun (Eburodunum) in France was formerly venerated at Notre-Dame de la Grace (according to Migne *, "Grasse" , but this appears to be a misprint). This abbey of the Congregation of St Maurus is located in the Diocese of Carcassonne. The Saint's venerable head was kept in a reliquary there. Some confuse him with  Saint Alban of Verulam in England, but the latter is an entirely different person.
