  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN NOVEMBER Saints celebrated on the 27th of November SAINT HIRENARCHUS AND COMPANIONS, MARTYRS Today, we also commemorate Saint Hirenarchus and Companions. The Roman Martyrology states:  "At Sebaste, in Armenia, the holy martyrs Hirenarchus, Acacius, priest, and seven women. Struck with the constancy of these women, Hirenarchus was converted to Christ, and with Acacius died under the axe, in the reign of the emperor Diocletian and under the governor Maximus." PRAYER: Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saints Hirenarchus, Acacius, and Companions may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.

  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN MAY Saints celebrated on the 8th of May WELCOME! SAINT ACHATIUS, MARTYR Of the saints named Achatius, this one is reckoned among the Fourteen Holy Helpers . St Achatius, as a Roman soldier, died for Christ. Achatius [Acacius] was a native of Cappadocia and as a youth joined the Roman army during the reign of Emperor Hadrian, attaining the rank of captain. One day, when leading his company against the enemy, he heard a voice saying to him, "Call on the God of Christians!" He obeyed, was instructed, and received Baptism. Filled with zeal, he henceforth sought to convert also the pagan soldiers of the army. When the emperor heard of this, Achatius was thrown into prison, then placed on the rack, bound to a post and scourged, because he refused to offer sacrifice to the idols.
