ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN OCTOBER Saints celebrated on the 27th of October WELCOME! SAINT HEMELINA, VIRGIN Saint Hemelina (Emelina), the mother of St Ascelina was related to St Bernard. She was born near La Ferté sur l'Aube (Firmitas super Albam) . After she had been married for 33 years, she entered the Cistercian convent of Boulencourt (Monast. Bullencuriense) together with her five-year-old daughter, and died towards the end of the 12th century . (Bollandists* - Aug. IV. 654). She is counted among the "saints," but is not included in the Elenchus *. Religious writers call her "virgin", probably because she ended her godly life in the monastery. (Buc.)
