  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN DECEMBER Saints celebrated on the 8th of December WELCOME! VENERABLE EGBERT, ARCHBISHOP OF TRIER Venerable Egbert ( Egbertus ) is remembered on December 8 and December 9. Egbert was the son of the very powerful Count Theodoric II of Holland. In his early youth he was entrusted to the education of some pious Benedictine monks, whom he delighted with his piety and zeal. After making his profession as a youth, he received the ordination of the subdeaconate. And when, on the feast of Saint Adalbert , his special patron saint, he was prevented by a fever and ardently desired to be able to serve at the altar, he suddenly regained his health after invoking this saint.  When he was subsequently raised to the archiepiscopal see of Trier (Triers, Treves), he was so at home in his office that it seemed as if, in the solitude of his monastery, he had thought of nothing else but the duties of a bishop.
