  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN SEPTEMBER Saints celebrated on the 10th of September WELCOME! SAINT FULGENTIUS, ABBOT Saint Fulgentius [September 10, December 10] was born in Brabant. He consecrated himself to the Lord in the monastery of St Ageric in Verdun. The monks there did not communicate with the local bishop because an anathema lay upon him. He, in turn, banished the whole community of monks from his territory. Where were they to turn to? Attracted by the good reputation of the religious association formed six years earlier in Afflighem , Fulgentius went there and edified all the brothers so wonderfully that they elected him as their abbot. Because of his humility Fulgentius tried to refuse at first, but eventually he consented. Soon, over 200 brothers gathered around him, whom he guided to all virtues, along with the nuns who lived in a separate building. He predicted the deaths of the two saints,  Anselm of Canterbury and Hugh of Cluny , whose heavenly abodes he had seen...

  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN MAY Saints celebrated on the 22 May WELCOME! SAINT FULGENTIUS, BISHOP OF OTRICOLI Saint Fulgentius, commemorated on May 22, was Bishop of Otricoli (on the Tiber). Once he sent several gifts to the approaching Gothic king Totila in order to gain his favour for himself and his church. However, he was captured on his orders and handed over to some masons for safekeeping in the open air. A terrible rain dispersed them, while not a drop fell on the saint. This miracle inspired such awe that the king released the prisoner. Therefore, the rumour that this Saint Fulgentius had brick walls erected around him on Totila's orders and was left to die within them appears to be unfounded. SAINT FULGENTIUS, BISHOP OF ECIJA Saint Fulgentius was born in Seville, where his parents - the military prefect Severian and Theodora, the daughter of the Ostrogothic king Theodoric - were exiled from Carthage for the sake of the Catholic faith. The saint received a careful education and was well-instructed in Greek, Syriac, Hebrew, Gothic, Latin, Italian, and Arabic. His learning and virtues led him to the episcopal sees of Carthagena and Ecija (Astigi). His holy death occurred after the year 619, and his body was transferred to Seville.
