SAINT FEAST DAY 3 MARCH: ST KATHARINE DREXEL

ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN MARCH Saints celebrated on the 3rd of March WELCOME! SAINT KATHARINE DREXEL, FOUNDRESS Saint Katharine Drexel was born November 26, 1858 in Philadelphia, USA, into a wealthy and well-connected banking family. The family's wealth, however, did not prevent them from living out a serious commitment to their faith. Both parents encouraged their daughters to think of the family's wealth not as their own, but as a gift from God which was to be used to help others.  THE SISTERS OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT She was called to religious life, founded the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament and, with a band of sisters, devoted herself to the care and education of the underprivileged, namely native Americans and Americans of African descent. Apart from a boarding school in Santa Fe - her first project - she founded schools in 13 states. Segregationists gave her and her sisters a very hard time, including deliberate damage to her Catholic schools.  QUIET, INTENSE PRAYER
