JEROME OF CORLEONE, RELIGIOUS - 7 JANUARY

ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN JANUARY Saints celebrated on the 7th of January JEROME OF CORLEONE, RELIGIOUS A page of one of Fortunatus Hueber's Saints' books, "Stammenbuch..." (1693) Jerome of Corleone (Hieronymus a Corleone), a Capuchin lay brother, was born on December 22, 1639 at Corleone, Sicily, to poor but godly parents. His father's name was Antonius Trombator, his mother's name Vincentia. He died a happy death on January 7, 1717.  The life story of the "godly servant of God" of the province of Palermo has been translated from Italian by the Capuchin priest P. Emmerich and was newly published at Passau in 1853. It tells us about his great humility and his unshakable trust in God, relates the miracles that he worked, his prophecies which he made, and the apparitions by which he showed himself here and there after his death.  Jerome is listed in the Calendar of the Third Order* on January 7.
