  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN MAY Saints celebrated on the 3rd of May WELCOME! SAINT JUVENALIS, BISHOP OF NARNI Saint Juvenalis, (commemorated on May 3, and also on August 7), was Bishop of Narni (Narnia) in Umbria. According to his Life (biography), which the  Bollandists * compiled from several old manuscripts, Juvenalis came to the city of Narni in 369 as a doctor and priest on a journey from Africa to Rome and was taken into the house of a pious matron named Philadelphia. There were several Christians in this city at that time, but no bishop. In order to obtain one, several respected citizens travelled to Rome and asked Pope Damasus to ordain the priest Juvenalis as their bishop, whom they considered a very holy man. Their request was granted and they returned to their city with the newly consecrated bishop. Immediately after his return, Juvenalis exhorted each and everyone to abandon every trace of idolatry and become most dedicated worshippers of Christ and of Christ only...

  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN MAY Saints celebrated on the 7th of May WELCOME! SAINT JUVENALIS, BISHOP OF TERNI Saint Juvenalis was Bishop of  Terni (Interamna) in the Papal States. The  Bollandists * list him among the praetermissi on May 7 (II. 132) , along with Bishop Saint Juvenalis of Narni and the alleged martyr Juvenalis, the deacon of Pope Saint Alexander , who are mentioned by some hagiographers on this day. However, regarding the martyr Juvenalis , they inform us that, irrespective of most extensive research, they have not been able to find a deacon Juvenalis in the meticulously compiled acts of  Pope Saint Alexander , and that it is also very doubtful whether there was a Bishop Saint Juvenalis of Terni. SAINT JUVENALIS, MARTYR Saint Juvenalis, commemorated on February 23, was a martyr whose relics are kept next to the body of the holy monk and martyr Syrenus, along with the mortal remains of Saint Maximinus, Bishop of Billon in Lower Auvergne. It is unknown who these latter two were and on which day they are venerated. The Roman Martyrology* mentions a  martyr Juvenalis on May 7, and Saussayus * lists three bishops and martyrs with the name Maximinus: one was Bishop of Trier , the other  of Besançon , whose feast is celebrated on May 29, and the  third of Aix , whose feast is celebrated on June 8; but it cannot be determined to which of them these relics belong. SAINT JUVENALIS OF BENEVENTO, MARTYR Saint Juvenalis, commemorated on May 7, was a martyr who is venerated for his many miracles, particularly in Benevento, for through his intercession the city was once freed from the plague. His mortal remains are preserved in that city in the church of St Sophia under an altar specially dedicated to him. Large crowds flock to this altar, especially on May 7, when his feast is celebrated there.  He is listed as a martyr in many martyrologies, also in the Roman Martyrology*. However, no other details are known about his life and death; for the  Bollandists * have demonstrated at length that this Saint Juvenalis was neither  Bishop of Narni   nor Bishop of Terni , nor a deacon of  Pope Saint Alexander .
