SAINT DOROTHEUS AND COMPANIONS, MARTYRS Saints Dorotheus (a priest), Rodocianus (a deacon), Viator, Terence (Terentius), Martin (Martinus) , Maiorica, Victor, Claudius, Silvanus, Clemens (Orimentus), Honoratus, a second Victor, Reductus, a second Honoratus, Telesphorus, Primosus, Rogatus, Felix, a second Felix, Lucian (Lucianus), Colosus, a second Rogatus, Revocatus, Severus, Cotidia, Fortunus, Spinica, Jocundus, Dimitri (Demetrius), Julius, Secundinus (a bishop), Meritus, Honorus, a second Silvanus, Saturnin (Saturninus), Emile (Emilianus), Saturnina, Aphrodisius (a priest), Dugdus and Pastor (a bishop) were all put to death for the sake of the Christian faith at Alexandria. SAINT PETER AND COMPANIONS, MARTYRS - 12 MARCH

  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN MARCH Saints celebrated on the 12th of March WELCOME! SAINT PETER AND COMPANIONS, MARTYRS At Nicomedia, Saint Peter (Petrus Cubicularius), chamberlain to the emperor Diocletian, the priest Migdonius, another Migdonius, Euticius ( Eunenus ), Maxima (Maximus), the virgin Donata (Domna), Ruginus, Marius, Smaragdus, Hilarius, Evengulus (Vingelosinus), Quirinus, Mareasus, Nestor, Eugenius, Dorotheus, Gorgonius and Matulus (Marulus) all attained the martyrdom in the year 302. Several of these were imperial officials.  The Emperor Diocletian had idols carried into his palace and the Christians brought before them to sacrifice to them. Since they refused, he had some beaten with ox sinews and lead butts, others hung up and mauled, still others skinned. Everyone remained firm in the faith. Dorotheus and Gorgonius are also venerated by the Greeks (on September 9). The Roman Martyrology * just mentions Saint Peter  on March 12, but none of his Companions...

SAINT DOROTHEUS OF ALEXANDRIA, CONFESSOR - 9 OCTOBER

  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN OCTOBER Saints celebrated on the 9th of October SAINT DOROTHEUS OF ALEXANDRIA, CONFESSOR Saint Dorotheus was a confessor of the faith at Alexandria. He had to endure much at the hands of the Arians, and died, it is believed, in the year 373. (Mg.) SAINT FEAST DAY 5 JUNE: ST DOROTHEUS OF TYRE

  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN JUNE Saints celebrated on the 5th of June WELCOME! SAINT DOROTHEUS OF TYRE, MARTYR Saint Dorotheus was a priest (some say bishop) of Tyre in Phoenicia, and suffered much for the faith under Diocletian, as the ancient Martyrologies testify. He is said to have survived his torments, and to have reached the times of Julian the Apostate.    MARTYRDOM AT ODYSSOPOLIS IN THRACE Saint Theophanes, Anastasius the librarian, and the modern Greeks tell us, that he completed his martyrdom at Odyssopolis in Thrace.  Another Dorotheus , a martyr, chamberlain of Diocletian, is mentioned by Eusebius, and honoured with  Saint Gorgonius on September 9. The same historian speaks of a third Dorotheus, a priest of Antioch in the same age, a most holy man, and perfectly skilled in the scriptures and in the Hebrew tongue.
