You provide an example for us by their lives on earth, You give us their friendship by our communion with them, You grant us strength and protection through their prayer for the Church, and You spur us on to victory over evil and the prize of eternal glory by this great company of witnesses. ST GALLA, MARTYR - 31 MAY

ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN MAY Saints celebrated on the 31st of May SAINT GALLA, MARTYR  Saint Galla is mentioned in the writings of St Gregory of Tours. He states that she is buried in the Basilica of St Venerandus at Clermont in Auvergne (apud Avernos). This suggests that already at the time of this holy author nothing more was known of St Galla than her grave. In the martyrologies she appears with a St Alexander, of whom no other details are related, either. Yet they may have not suffered martyrdom, as some accounts suggest.
