His feast day is September 30.   ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN SEPTEMBER Saints celebrated on the 30th of September ADALGERIO DI VILLALTA, BISHOP OF BELLUNO [Adalgerio di Villalta] (Adalgerius de Villalta) was bishop of Belluno in Italy, and died on September 30, 1290.  As Gregorius Piloni narrates in his book published in Venice in 1607, the holy bishop's body - rediscovered on June 16, 1525 - was found to be quite incorrupt. According to some writers, his memory is also celebrated on June 16.   ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN SEPTEMBER Saints celebrated on the 30th of September SERVANT OF GOD FIRMINUS WICKENHÄUSER Josef Wickenhäuser, Franciscan monk and sculptor, was born on January 19, 1876 in Massenbachhausen, Germany.  He was the tenth child of the shepherd Johann Adam Wickenhäuser. His father died when Josef was just 15, and from then onwards the latter looked after his mother.  He earned money for both of them in the road building trade, and later trained as a stonemason.  In 1905 his mother died. Josef then joined the Franciscans in Harreveld; later he lived in the Düsseldorf monastery. Brother Firminus, as he was now called, henceforth used his remarkable talent and skill to restore Franciscan churches and to create pious sculptures, busts and statues.  The Servant of God Firminus died on September 30, 1939. He lived for some years as a hermit in the Syrian desert, then returned to Antioch and was ordained priest by Paulinus. He lived in Constantinople and then in Rome, preaching asceticism, and studying. Eventually he settled in Bethlehem, where he was head of the monastery and devoted himself to study. His scholarship was unparalleled in the early Church. He translated the Bible from its original tongues into Latin (the Vulgate), wrote biblical commentaries, and other works.
