He is also called  Moelbrigidus ,  Maolbrigidus, Moëlbrigidius, Maelbrigidus ,  Malbrigidus ,  Brigidunus, Brigidanus . Installed on the chair of  Saint Patrick  (Patricius)  in A.D. 925, he is praised as a man full of the grace of God, as a repository of all the learning and wisdom of his time, as the glory of Europe, as the head of religion in Ireland (Kelly , p. 77).
