  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN DECEMBER Saints celebrated on the 30th of December   WELCOME! SAINT SABINUS AND COMPANIONS, MARTYRS In 303, during the reign of Diocletian, the president Venustianus had the bishop of Assisi, called Sabinus, imprisoned for being a Christian, along with his two deacons, named Marcellus and Exuperantius (Exsuperantius), and other clergymen. The public hearing was held the very next day. The bishop had both his hands cut off after allegedly dishonouring an idol. The two deacons, Marcellus and Exuperantius, were stretched on the rack, struck with rods and lacerated with iron claws. Both gave up the ghost under these torments, invoking the name of Christ, their bodies were thrown into the water, but pulled out again and buried. The condemnation of Saint Sabinus was postponed; yet he was kept in close custody. He was finally taken to Spoleto and convicted there. He was then scourged until he died. ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN DECEMBER   Saints celebrated on the 7th of December   Prayer to the Angels and the Saints Heavenly Father, in praising Your Angels and Saints we praise Your glory, for by honouring them we honour You, their Creator. Their splendour shows us Your greatness, which infinitely surpasses that of all creation. In Your loving providence, You saw fit to send Your Angels to watch over us. Grant that we may always be under their protection and one day enjoy their company in heaven. Heavenly Father, You are glorified in Your Saints, for their glory is the crowning of Your gifts. You provide an example for us by their lives on earth, You give us their friendship by our communion with them, You grant us strength and protection through their prayer for the Church, and You spur us on to victory over evil and the prize of eternal glory by this great company of witnesses.
