  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN JUNE Saints celebrated on the 18th of June WELCOME! BLESSED MARY THE SORROWFUL, VIRGIN AND MARTYR  B. Mary (June 18). This blessed Mary, known by the epithet "the Sorrowful" ( Dolorosa ) or "the Wretched," is venerated in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert at the local Church of Saint Peter ( in parochia S. Petri Wolvensis ). She obtained a threefold grace from the Lord: that of poverty, chastity, and martyrdom. A young man, inflamed with love for her but rejected by her, falsely accused her of stealing a silver cup. Although she maintained her innocence, she was buried alive (the account does not specify by whom) and killed by a stake driven through her body. Miracles occurring at her grave bore witness to her holiness.
