  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN MAY Saints celebrated on the 2nd of May WELCOME! SAINT GERMANUS AND COMPANIONS, MARTYRS Nothing much is known about this Saint Germanus except his name. However, he definitely existed. It is certain that he is not identical with the  other martyr of that name who is commemorated on the same day. This fact is ascertained by the names of his companions - all the ancient manuscripts agree on those names. His fellow martyrs were called  Celestinus, Felix, Cetinus, Urbanus, Bellicus (Bellacus, Hellacus, Bellapus) and Privata. When and where they obtained the martyr's crown is unknown. Relics of them are kept in Bologna. Perhaps this location coincides with their place of martyrdom (I. 179).   ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN DECEMBER Saints celebrated on the 3rd of December WELCOME! SAINT GERMAN, HERMIT Saint German [Gorman ] (Germanus), commemorated on December 3, was a hermit and brother of Saint Gibrian  (Gibrianus). Together with him and five other brothers and three sisters German left his native Ireland. According to Migne *, all of these siblings are venerated as saints in the church. Once they had arrived in France, Saint Remigius of Reims , who was bishop at the time, directed them to a desolate area on the banks of the Marne for them to live hermits' lives. In complete isolation, away from worldly distractions, they completed their earthly pilgrimage. Their hermitages, located not too far from each other, made it possible for them to pay visits to one another from time to time.  Saint Gibrian was regarded as their superior because he was the eldest of them and a priest.  Migne * lists this holy hermit as Saint German.   ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN JULY Saints celebrated on the 3rd of July WELCOME! SAINT GERMAN, BISHOP OF MAN The Cathedral Church of Saint German, Peel, Isle of Man Saint German [Gorman] (Germanus), commemorated on July 3,  was a student of  Saint Patrick  (Patricius). According to the  Bollandists *, he was sent to Man (later called Sodor, now Castleton) in A.D. 447, and became Bishop there (Jun. I. 408) .  Some sources state that he previously had been Canon Lateran in Rome. German died in A.D. 474 after an extremely meritorious and virtuous life. His name lives on in the town of Kirk-German (German's church). Peel-Castle Cathedral is consecrated in his name (I. 667).   ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN JUNE   Saints celebrated on the 8th of June WELCOME! SAINT GERMAN AND COMPANIONS, MARTYRS  (THE STONE CUTTERS) Saints German (Germanus, Gesmanus), Paulinus, Justus and Sicius (Scicius) are said to have suffered in the town of Gerona (Gerunda) on the Ter (12 miles north-east of Barcelona in Spain) during the Diocletian persecution. They are known as the “stone cutters” (Lapicidae) .  Unfortunately the original biographies describing their circumstances and martyrdom have been lost long ago, and instead only forged acts, completely different from the original ones, have come down to us. Therefore even the nickname Lapicidae is not entirely reliable.  Their relics were first kept at a Church dedicated to the Mother of God outside of town; under Charlemagne and by his order, however, they were moved to the cathedral. Around the year 1200 their mortal remains were translated once more to a specially built chapel dedicated to these martyrs ...
