She is venerated in the area of ​​Cornwall in England, where there is a village bearing her name (St-Buriens). She travelled from Ireland to Cornwall as a missionary to convert the local people to Christianity. According to the Exeter Calendar of Martyrology Buriana was the daughter of a Munster chieftain.
