ST MANSUETUS, BISHOP OF TOUL - 3 SEPTEMBER

SAINT MANSUETUS, BISHOP OF TOUL Saint Mansuetus  Saint Mansuetus , Bishop of Toul, is variously commemorated on September 3, June 14, April 25, September 2. The older Bollandists * state that Saint  Mansuetus flourished in the fourth century, a date found in agreement with more recent research. According to According to Butler* , he lived during the reign of Emperor Constans, who held court in Trier and greatly favoured the spread of the Gospel in those regions. The  Gallica Christiana*   (121, 958) mentions his arrival in Toul in January 335; some other sources claim this event to have taken place in January 360. ST URSUS, BISHOP OF TOUL

  WELCOME! SAINT URSUS, BISHOP OF TOUL Ursus (Ursinus) was (according to the  Gallica Christiana* ) the sixth Bishop of Toul, flourishing around the year 490, succeeding Saint Auspicius . He was a contemporary and friend of Saint Vedastus and excelled in all episcopal virtues. The Church of  Saint Mansuetus houses his relics. Saint Gideon is commemorated on September 1 and September 12 [and September 26 ]. In the Vulgate Bible translation, this saint is called Gedeon , also known as Jerubbaal . One of the judges of Israel, he was the son of Joash, from the tribe of Manasseh in the city of Ophrah, who was called and strengthened by God to redeem the Israelites from the servitude of the Medinans with just a very small army.   ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN MARCH Saints celebrated on the 17th of March WELCOME! CASPAR NAGEL, MONK Caspar Nagel, remembered on March 17, was Franciscan from Vienna, who for reasons of humility adopted the name Pater Asinus¹ . CHARLES I, KING OF HUNGARY - 3 JULY

CHARLES I, KING OF HUNGARY Charles I, King of Hungary  Charles (July 3), King of Hungary, the first of that name, also called Martellus , a son of King Charles II of Sicily [King Charles II of Naples], was born in 1272. In 1290 he gained the Hungarian crown because his mother was a daughter of King Stephen V of Hungary and sister of Ladislaus IV , who died without male heirs. Although of royal lineage and himself destined for the throne, he entered the Third Order of  Saint Francis  and led a devout life. His body rests in the Church of  Saint Stephen  in Stuhlweissenburg [Székesfehérvár].
