  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN MARCH Saints celebrated on the 16th of March WELCOME! SAINT ABBAN OF MURNEAVE, ABBOT Saint Abban of Magheranoidhe (Murneave or Murnevin), nephew of St Ibar, the apostle of Wexford (a predecessor and contemporary of St Patrick), flourished 570 - 620.  HE FOUNDED NUMEROUS CHURCHES He was the son of Cormac, King of Leinster, and he founded numerous churches in the district of Ui Cennselaigh, almost conterminous with the present County Wexford and Diocese of Ferns.  HIS PRINCIPAL MONASTERY WAS ABBANSTOWN His principal monastery was at Magheranoidhe, subsequently known as "Abbanstown," today, Adamstown; but he also founded an abbey at Rosmie-treoin, or New Ross, which afterwards became famous as a scholastic establishment. ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN MARCH Saints celebrated on the 14th of March WELCOME! SAINT MAUD (MATILDA), QUEEN Saint Maud, princess, was daughter of Theodoric, a powerful Saxon count. Her parents placed her very young in the monastery of Erfurt of which her grandmother Maud was then abbess.  Our Saint remained in that house, an accomplished model of all virtues, till her parents married her to Henry, son of Otho, Duke of Saxony, in 913, who was afterwards chosen king of Germany.  VICTORIES OVER HER SPIRITUAL ENEMIES He was s pious and victorious prince, and very tender of his subjects.   ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN MARCH Saints celebrated on the 10th of March   WELCOME! SAINT JOHN OGILVIE, PRIEST AND MARTYR Born in 1579 and raised a Calvinist, Saint John Ogilvie felt called to become Catholic. He joined the Jesuits . Following his priestly ordination in Paris in 1610, he returned to the British Isles, where he was instrumental in bringing many souls back to the Faith. Finally he was arrested by the government for being a Catholic priest, tortured and executed in 1615. PRAYER: Almighty and eternal God,  you gave to blessed John wisdom in defending the Catholic faith and courage in facing a martyr's death: listen to our prayers,  and send us an ever greater harvest of faith, hope and love.
