GENOVEVA, COUNTESS OF BRABANT - 2 APRIL

  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN APRIL Saints celebrated on the 2nd of April WELCOME! GENOVEVA, COUNTESS OF BRABANT Genoveva in the Forest Seclusion - Adrian Ludwig Richter Genoveva (Genovefa, Genevieve), wife of Count Palatine Siegfried von Mayenfeld, of the lineage of the Dukes of Brabant, is known far and wide for her remarkable history.  According to the legend, when her husband marched against the Saracens under Charles Martell, he left his wife under the protection of his steward Golo, who repeatedly made indecent proposals to her, only to accuse her of adultery when she refused. Golo [sent word to her husband, to whom he related that his wife had been unfaithful with a pious cook and] persuaded the Count to have her executed for adultery.  Moved by pity, a servant charged with carrying out the punishment let her escape to the Ardennes forest. SAINT RONAN, BISHOP - 1 JUNE

  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN JUNE Saints celebrated on the 1st of June WELCOME! SAINT RONAN, BISHOP (Ruadhan, Rumon, Ruan) was a 5th century Irish saint who is said to have been consecrated bishop by  Saint Patrick . He came to labour for God in Cornwall. The particulars regarding him are vague and uncertain. Various churches are dedicated to Saint Ruan or Ronan. At one period, he lived in Brittany, where he is equally in honour as in the British Isles. Perhaps it was in Brittany that he ended his earthly pilgrimage.  From the Book of Saints, 1921, by the Monks of Ramsgate PRAYER: Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saint Ronan may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.

SAINT AWTEL, MONK - 3 JUNE

  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN JUNE Saints celebrated on the 3rd of June WELCOME! SAINT AWTEL, MONK Saint Awtel (Mar Awtel), born around A.D. 250, is particularly venerated among the Eastern Churches including the Maronite Church.   Legend relates that, by his prayers and supplications, he delivered his fellow passengers during a severe storm while travelling in a boat.  He is the patron saint of Kfarsghab, Lebanon.  The only church dedicated to him is Saint Awtel's Church in Kfarsghab. This holy man died in A.D. 327 in Lucia, Turkey, in which city he had also been born. His feast day is celebrated also on August 27. PRAYER: Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saint Awtel may increase our devotion and promote our salvation.
