SAINT RONAN, BISHOP
(Ruadhan, Rumon, Ruan) was a 5th century Irish saint who is said to have been consecrated bishop by Saint Patrick. He came to labour for God in Cornwall. The particulars regarding him are vague and uncertain. Various churches are dedicated to Saint Ruan or Ronan. At one period, he lived in Brittany, where he is equally in honour as in the British Isles. Perhaps it was in Brittany that he ended his earthly pilgrimage.
From the Book of Saints, 1921, by the Monks of Ramsgate
PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saint Ronan may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
