Saints celebrated on the 3rd of June
SAINT AWTEL, MONK
Saint Awtel (Mar Awtel), born around A.D. 250, is particularly venerated among the Eastern Churches including the Maronite Church.
Legend relates that, by his prayers and supplications, he delivered his fellow passengers during a severe storm while travelling in a boat. He is the patron saint of Kfarsghab, Lebanon.
The only church dedicated to him is Saint Awtel's Church in Kfarsghab. This holy man died in A.D. 327 in Lucia, Turkey, in which city he had also been born. His feast day is celebrated also on August 27.
PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saint Awtel may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
