SAINT HELAN, PRIEST
Saint Helan (Helanus), commemorated on October 7, was Irish by birth. He flourished in the late 5th century. Together with his brother Gibrian and his other brothers and sisters he moved to Gaul. There he lived as a hermit on the banks of the Marne and later became a priest. His name is listed in the Roman Martyrology*. (Mg.)
