ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN NOVEMBER Saints celebrated on the 18th of November WELCOME! SAINT AMANDUS, ABBOT OF LÉRINS Saint Amandus, Abbot of Lérins in France, succeeded Saint Aigulph in the leadership of this monastery in the year 676; Aigulph had been killed by wayward monks on account of his strictness. This crime plunged the monastery into utter disorder, and at that precise time an abbot like Saint Amandus was needed - one who was ablaze with zeal for the salvation of souls, while combining prudence and piety with firmness of character. He did indeed restore the monastery to its former flourishing state and presided over 3,700 monks. He went to his eternal reward around the year 708.
