ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN FEBRUARY Saints celebrated on the 25th of February WELCOME! SAINT AVERTANUS AND SAINT ROMAEUS, CARMELITES Saint Avertanus and Romaeus (February 25). Saint Avertanus, a lay brother of the Carmelite Order, was born in Limoges, France, and entered the order at the prompting of an angel. He possessed a high degree of chastity and prayed so much on his knees that he developed calluses. On his pilgrimage to Rome, where he intended to venerate the holy relics, he was struck by a fever and died in a suburb of Lucca, Italy, after having had an apparition of Christ. At his death, the city's bells are said to have rung of their own accord. His companion on this journey was the blessed Romaeus .
