ST ALVITUS, BISHOP OF LEON - 27 DECEMBER

  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN DECEMBER Saints celebrated on the 27th of December WELCOME! SAINT ALVITUS, BISHOP OF LEON   Saint Alvitus (Albitus), Bishop (feast day: December 27; alternatively October 3).  Saint Alvitus, Bishop of Leon [León] in Spain, was formerly a monk and abbot at the monastery of Sahagunt [Sahagún]. As Bishop of Leon, he rendered great service to his church, which he governed in all holiness until God called him from this life in 1063, particularly through the translation of the relics of Saint Isidore of Seville . Some hagiographers also record his commemoration on October 3.
