WELCOME! VENERABLE ABBANTUS, ABBOT The venerable Abbantus was the fourth abbot of Mount Coryph near Antioch and an Ishmaelite by birth. He always went barefoot and almost never drank - not even water - despite his thirst. He prayed for the greater part of the day and night and wore a heavy iron chain around his loins. He lived in the early 5th century.
