A cousin, who served as the Superior of the Ursulines in Arles, encouraged her love for seclusion and the monastic life. However, when she revealed her desire to become a nun to her grandmother at home, Honorata was grounded and locked up by her grandmother for eight days. The Superior attempted to intercede on her behalf through influential personages. Honorata, seizing a favourable opportunity, fled to Avignon on a ship that her cousin, the Superior in Arles, had arranged for her, and there she succeeded in entering the aforementioned order.
