SAINT DIOMEDES AND COMPANIONS, MARTYRS Saint Diomedes, Julian, Philip, Eutychianus, Hesychius, Leonides, Philadelphus, Menalippus, Pantagapas, and  Eutychius were martyred for Christ's sake; some by fire, others by water, and still others with the sword and the cross. The Roman Martyrology states:  "Also, the holy martyrs Diomedes, Julian, Philip, Euthychian, Hesychius, Leonides, Philadelphus, Menalippus, and Pantagapas. They consummated their martyrdom, some by fire, some by water, others by the sword or by the cross."
