The Roman Martyrology states: "Saint Zachary, priest and prophet, father of blessed John the Baptist ." "Also, Saint Elizabeth, mother of the same most holy precursor." PRAYER: Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saints Zachary and Elizabeth may increase our devotion and promote our salvation.
