ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN AUGUST
Saints celebrated on the 16th of August
Prayer to the Angels and the Saints
Heavenly Father, in praising Your Angels and Saints we praise Your glory, for by honouring them we honour You, their Creator. Their splendour shows us Your greatness, which infinitely surpasses that of all creation.
In Your loving providence, You saw fit to send Your Angels to watch over us. Grant that we may always be under their protection and one day enjoy their company in heaven.
Heavenly Father, You are glorified in Your Saints, for their glory is the crowning of Your gifts. You provide an example for us by their lives on earth, You give us their friendship by our communion with them, You grant us strength and protection through their prayer for the Church, and You spur us on to victory over evil and the prize of eternal glory by this great company of witnesses.
Grant that we who aspire to take part in their joy may be filled with the Spirit that blessed their lives, so that, after sharing their faith on earth, we may also experience their peace in heaven. Amen.
ST ADUINUS, BISHOP
Saint Aduinus is called Bishop of Rome on a tombstone in the Exies (M. Exiense) monastery on the Aldus River near Agen in France.
"BISHOP OF ROME"
This is not to be interpreted otherwise than he was a regional bishop, that is, a bishop who went on apostolic trips and was ordained bishop in Rome. It does, however, not necessarily mean that he was a bishop at all, which some doubt because, as Mabillon shows, at that time, especially in Belgium, those clerics were also called "bishop" who exercised episcopal jurisdiction without being bishops by ordination themselves.
HIS FEAST DAY
According to some sources, his festival was celebrated on February 4; according to others on August 16, which is said to have been the day of his death.

This Cathedral's visible structure dates to the 12th century, when it was built as a collegiate church of canons dedicated to St Caprasius of Agen on the foundations of a basilica sacked by the Normans in the 9th century. The cathedral was listed as an historic monument in 1863, which is situated on one of four pilgrims' ways toward Santiago de Compostela, Spain. - Information from Wikipedia)
