Saints celebrated on the 14th of May
SAINT HYARANUS, BISHOP OF MUNSTER
Saint Hyaranus, Bishop of Munster (Momonia) in Ireland, is mentioned by the Bollandists* in the Life of St Carthacus [Carthach] (May 14). He was a son of Fintan, lived in the 6th century and possessed the spirit of divination. His successor was St Furudranus, who also appears in the Life of St Carthacus (Maji III. 380).
The Bollandists cannot state anything with certainty about him other than that he ruled the church of Munster for 20 years. On what day St Hyaranus is venerated is not known, according to the Bollandists* (Maji III. 382). It is striking that they did not include him in the Elenchus* either. He might perhaps be identical with an Irish St Kieran (Kieranus).
