WELCOME!

ST SULPITIUS, BISHOP

Saint Sulpitius (commemorated on December 24), was a bishop from Gaul who is mentioned in the annals as as an apostle in the Rhone Valley of the 4th century (around the year 323).

An old manuscript gives him the highest praise and calls him a worthy Gallic bishop. He died after a truly Christian life and was buried in a niche in the church of Martinach. He may be the same as the Bishop of Trois-Chateaux named in the Elenchus* on the above date (Burgener, II. 238).
