Saints celebrated on the 27th of April
SAINT JOHN, ABBOT
Today, we also commemorate Saint John. The Roman Martyrology states:
"At Constantinople, the abbot Saint John, who combatted vigorously for the worship of holy images, under Leo the Isaurian."
PRAYER:
Grant to your Church, we beseech you, O Lord, through the intercession of Saint John, not to think high-mindedly, but to grow in humility pleasing to you; that, despising what is base, she may with unbounded love diligently do whatever is right. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
