BURCHARD, BISHOP OF WORMS Burchard [Burkhard] (Burcardus) was Bishop of Worms; he lived in the 11th century and died in  A.D. 1024. Some sources call him "blessed," others "saint." ANNO, BISHOP OF WORMS - 24 DECEMBER

  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN DECEMBER Saints celebrated on the 24th of December WELCOME! VENERABLE ANNO, BISHOP At first, the venerable Bishop Anno of Worms was a monk of the monastery of Saint Maximin of Trier. He was then appointed abbot of the Saint Moritz (Saint Maurice) Monastery in Magdeburg by Emperor Otto I because of his virtues. Soon afterwards he became Bishop of Worms.  HE ATTENDED THE SYNOD OF AUGSBURG In 952 he attended the Synod of Augsburg and died in 974 after having fulfilled his pastoral duties with all loyalty for many years.  HIS FEAST DAY In Worms, according to the Benedictine martyrology, his memory is celebrated on September 20. In one of the martyrologies he is counted among the "saints" (Buc.) .
