ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN JULY Saints celebrated on the 29th of July WELCOME! SAINT SULIAC, ABBOT Saint Suliac ( Suliacus ) (commemorated on July 29, October 1, November 8) is also spelled Sulia , French Sulieau . The Bollandists * list this holy abbot as Silinus . He is venerated in the vicinity of Saint Malo , the bishopric of Rennes, and also in the former bishopric of Leon, which is now united with Quimper. According to legend, he lived in the 6th century and was a son of King Bromail of Wales, but entered the monastery of Meibod, where he became abbot. He then went as a missionary to Brittany, where he settled at the mouth of the Rance and made numerous conversions through his sermons and his holy life. The small town of Saint Suliac [Saint-Suliac] (Ille et Vilaine) bears his name, but his tomb is still located in the parish church of Plouer.
