SAINT HELIODORUS, MARTYR
Saint Heliodorus was a martyr who died in Pamphylia (Asia Minor) during the Aurelian persecution, about the year 273, under the Preses Antius (in Migne* he is called Preses Festus).
Heliodorus' patience and devotion made such an impression on his tormentors that they converted to the faith, whereupon they were thrown into the sea. His name is listed both in the Elenchus* and in the Roman Martyrology*. In addition to November 21, Migne also mentions the 19th of this month as his feast day. (Mart. Rom.)
