Saints celebrated on the 13th of July
SAINT MYROPS, MARTYR
Saint Myrops is not to be confused with Myrope. Our Saint is known as "the myrrh giver" because she regularly collected a moist substance from the interred bodies of the apostles and martyrs and by means of this fluid healed the sick.
She is said to have suffered martyrdom for her Christian faith on the island of Chios under the emperor Decius. The Praeses Numerianus had her beaten until she gave up the ghost. The Latins commemorate her on July 13, the Greeks on December 3.
