SAINT HERMES AND COMPANIONS, MARTYRS
Saint Hermes, a soldier, was martyred for the Christian faith at Melitine, a city in Cappadocia, situated on the Euphrates, and later capital of Little Armenia (now Malatia, or Meledne). His companions in suffering were the priest Eppeus, Hilpidius (Elpidius) and Hermogenes. (III. 487)
