SAINT JUVENTIUS, MARTYR
Saint Juventius is a Roman martyr whose relics were transferred from Rome to France. Two Benedictine monasteries in France bear the name Chaise-Dieu (Casa Dei), one near Auvergne for men, the other a nunnery between Paris and Rouen. The institute for women belongs to the Diocese of Evreux.
In 1667 the latter received from Rome the mortal remains of Saint Juventius, Martyr, which had been taken from the catacombs, as well as the relics of Saint Parthenius. The transfer was undertaken by the Bishop of Evreux, Henri de Maupas du Tour; the sacred remains arrived from the eternal city with papal certificates and were solemnly installed at the monastery church there, whereupon many extraordinary healings and answers to prayers soon began to take place. (I. 45).
