ADELAIDE, ABBESS
Adelaide (Adelheidis), Abbess, is remembered on April 28. She was born into the illustrious house of the Counts of Ridtberg and and at an early age entered the monastery of Saint Aegidius in Münster. Subsequently she became abbess there. She had a special devotion to Jesus the Crucified, whose image she constantly carried with her, and shone before all by the holiness of her example. She flourished in 1325. Several martyrologists of the Benedictine Order list her with the title "venerable."
