SAINT DYNAMUS, BISHOP OF ANGOULEME
Saint Dynamus [Dynamius], a Bishop of Angoulême¹, flourished in the early 5th century and died around the year 425. He is highly praised by Saint Gregory of Tours, and Robert of Langres accords him the title "Saint."

Established in the 3rd century, the episcopal see of the Diocese of Angoulême is the Cathedral of St Peter, the current bishop being Hervé Gosselin. Traditionally suffragan to the Archbishopric of Bordeaux, the diocese is suffragan to the Archdiocese of Poitiers since 2002. The diocese's patron saints are Saint Ausonius of Angoulême and Saint Cybard.
